About Anne Brontë
Anne Brontë was a British novelist and poet who lived from January 17, 1820, to May 28, 1849. She was the youngest member of the Brontë literary family, which included her sisters Charlotte and Emily. Writing under the pen name Acton Bell, she first published poetry alongside her sisters in 1846 before releasing her debut novel, Agnes Grey, in 1847. This work drew heavily on her personal experiences working as a governess. In 1848, she published her second novel, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, which gained widespread attention for its realistic depiction of alcoholism, marital breakdown, and the legal constraints placed on Victorian women. Throughout her brief career, Brontë adopted a realistic, unromanticized style that distinguished her work from that of her peers. She died of tuberculosis at the age of twenty-nine in Scarborough, Yorkshire, leaving behind an enduring contribution to English literature.
