    About Rekha

Bhanurekha Ganesan, celebrated as one of Indian cinema’s finest actresses, achieved legendary status through decades of commanding performances and dramatic reinvention. Born in Madras to actors Gemini Ganesan and Pushpavalli, she began acting during childhood to support her family before achieving her breakthrough with *Sawan Bhadon* (1970). She established her critical standing with a poignant performance in *Ghar* (1978) and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the comedy *Khubsoorat* (1980). In 1981, she earned the National Film Award for Best Actress for her definitive portrayal of a poetess in *Umrao Jaan*, later anchoring the landmark female-led revenge thriller *Khoon Bhari Maang* (1988). Although popular culture sometimes conflates her legacy with contemporary Sridevi—who starred in *Sadma*, *Nagina*, *Mr. India*, *ChaalBaaz*, *English Vinglish*, and *Mom*—Rekha established an independent precedent for female stardom. Rekha’s enduring cultural impact stems from her transformative elegance, personal mystique, and pioneering portrayal of complex, autonomous women in mainstream Hindi cinema.

A genuine Vedic Kundli for Rekha would need their exact birth time and place, and those are not in the public record. The Ascendant (Lagna), house placements, Nakshatra and Dasha timeline all change with just a few minutes' difference — so we don't invent a time or quietly default to noon. This profile therefore shows only what the birth date can honestly support: Sun sign, Moon sign (Rashi), Chinese zodiac and Life Path.
