    About Prem Chopra

Prem Chopra is one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic and prolific actors, celebrated for defining the quintessential Bollywood screen villain across six decades. Born in Lahore in 1935, he grew up in Shimla and pursued acting in Mumbai while working in the circulation department of The Times of India. He gained early critical notice in the National Award-winning Punjabi film *Shaheed* (1965), which launched his career into mainstream Hindi cinema. He soon became the quintessential antagonist in golden-era classics like the spy thriller *Aankhen* (1968) and *Bobby* (1973), where his famous dialogue established his legendary screen persona. Chopra later showcased remarkable versatility by embracing comedy, winning a Filmfare Award for *Do Raaste* and earning widespread praise in David Dhawan’s hit *Saajan Chale Sasural* (1996). Continuing to work in modern blockbusters such as *Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2* (2022), he remains beloved for blending menace with sharp comedic timing.
