The Seven of Cups is a cloud of options and daydreams. Upright it is imagination and vision — but little that is solid yet. Reversed it turns into will and determination: choosing one thing and going for it.

    Seven of Cups upright

Strange, dream-like cups float in a cloud, each holding a different vision. Waite says the images belong to the fantastic spirit and lists fairy favours, reflection, imagination and visions — some attainment, but nothing permanent. Enjoy the ideas; then test them against reality.

    Seven of Cups reversed

Waite reversed gives desire, will, determination and project. The fog lifts and you pick one option — good.

    A is one drawn upside-down.

    Seven of Cups in love

Idealising someone, or too many options. Look at the real person.

    Seven of Cups in career

Lots of ideas; choose one and plan it properly.

    Seven of Cups in money

Beware schemes that look dazzling. Pick the realistic option.

Is Seven of Cups a yes or no?

Upright: Mixed / not yet. Unclear — too many options. Decide what you really want, then ask again.

Reversed: Reversed, Seven of Cups reads as a soft yes: determination, clarity, decision.

The yes/no lean is BornClock’s reading convention drawn from the card’s meaning — Waite himself did not assign one.
