    Nine of Cups upright

A well-fed man sits contentedly after a good meal, a row of wine cups on an arched counter behind him. Waite says the stored wine shows the future is assured, and lists concord, contentment, physical wellbeing, victory and success. Enjoy it — you have earned this.

    Nine of Cups reversed

Waite reversed gives truth, loyalty and liberty — and mistakes and imperfections. Readings vary; keep it honest and do not chase perfection.

    A is one drawn upside-down.

    Nine of Cups in love

Satisfaction and ease; a relationship that feels good.

    Nine of Cups in career

A goal reached; recognition and comfort.

    Nine of Cups in money

    Material comfort and security.

Is Nine of Cups a yes or no?

Upright: Leans yes. A clear yes — a wish granted.

Reversed: Reversed, Nine of Cups reads as mixed — not a clear yes or no: imperfection, mistakes, truth.

The yes/no lean is BornClock’s reading convention drawn from the card’s meaning — Waite himself did not assign one.
