Reversed keywords:
Judgement upright
An angel in the clouds sounds a trumpet hung with a cross banner, and people rise from their tombs with arms raised in wonder. Waite reads it as a call heard and answered from within — the completion of an inner change. You know what needs to happen next; this is the moment to rise to it.
Judgement reversed
Waite reversed gives weakness, timidity and simplicity — and also deliberation, decision and sentence. Weigh things carefully, but do not let fear keep you lying down.
A is one drawn upside-down.
Judgement in love
A fresh start with clearer eyes — renewing a commitment, or deciding honestly.
Judgement in career
A calling or a decisive review. Good for career changes you have long considered.
Judgement in money
Take stock and settle accounts. A clear decision beats drifting.
Is Judgement a yes or no?
Upright: Leans yes. Yes — it is time to answer the call and make the decision.
Reversed: Reversed, Judgement reads as mixed — not a clear yes or no: hesitation, self-doubt, delay.
The yes/no lean is BornClock’s reading convention drawn from the card’s meaning — Waite himself did not assign one.

- Angel with a trumpet — Waite: the call that is heard within
- Banner with a cross — a sacred, serious summons
- A man, a woman and their child rising — the whole self answering the call
- Raised arms and upturned faces — Waite: wonder, adoration and ecstasy
In Waite’s own words (paraphrased)
Upright: change of position, renewal, outcome.
Reversed: weakness, pusillanimity, simplicity; also deliberation, decision, sentence.
